SKATING OUT OF 2016: San Jose Young Skaters — who train at Sharks Ice and put on a great show last year with skating star Polina Edmunds at the Downtown Ice rink — return for an encore performance Dec. 31. Edmunds won’t be skating with them this time, but she did produce and choreograph this special New Year’s Eve show. The skaters will glide over the ice at the Circle of Palms to tunes from movies including “Mary Poppins,” “The Sound of the Music” and the Harry Potter series. The demonstration at 11 a.m. is free for the public to view, and public skating begins after the show.
